Hi we’re Amy and Katie, two sisters born in Australia, but ultimately, wandering souls of the universe.

Raised in the hippy hills surrounding Maleny, the Sunshine Coast hinterland, our childhood was no stranger to flowing rivers, vast starry night skies and clean clean fresh air, the best of nature.

Children of the eighties, we grew up on rain water and veggies from the garden, not because it was fashionable but because that’s what we had. And how lucky we were… but of course we knew there was a huge world out there to explore, with endless possibilities and souls to search.

So we up and left our natural paradise, trading it in for the bustling streets of Asia, romanticism of Europe, beating drums of Africa, swaying hips of Latin America and the spices and spirituality of India. One of us ended up in Malaysia and the other baseless, on the constant wandering path trying everything and anything along the way to find that ‘perfect place’.

The result…? After years of searching (do any of us really find ourselves in these quests...?!) and the realisation that no such thing as ‘the perfect place’ exists, we discovered that no matter where we were in the world, we both kept coming back to yoga and all that it embodied.

After several trips to India, which admittedly were firstly more for the physical practice of asana, we both began to see that yoga was much more about the way in which we try to live our lives, rather than ‘a really great strength and flexibility workout’

So this is a really nice la-ti-da story, but we’re sure you’re wondering where the malas come in…?!

Well our first encounter with malas was through trying, usually unsuccessfully, to use them to meditate. Further down the track we realised they made pretty nice pieces of jewellery, and since we have both been long term lovers of jewellery, this made us kind of mala obsessed. Even further down the track we started to discover the power of gem stones and manifestation and here’s where our journey with the mala really began.

Now we can’t say that either of us are really super airy people… but we are both strongly connected to nature, energy, and the belief that we all possess the power to manifest and create all that we desire.

We designed our malas to bring some of this magic to you! Our belief is not that you ‘need’ any physical object to raise your vibrations, but we do believe in the properties that stones possess. Because really, what’s more powerful than mother nature?! We also believe that sometimes when we have a physical object to focus on, it can assist in channelling our energy in a more productive and focused way.

And so it was with this intent that we created Razmi, meaning ‘rays of light’ in Sanskrit. Our wish is to bring you beautiful jewellery that you can wear close to your heart and fill with positive intentions and vibrations.
